Contemporary Mountain Furniture
Great Basin is a contemporary line rooted in classic design.
I enjoy the process of recreating
the “Mormon Pine” furniture and remain committed to
doing so. However, since my early days as a woodworker I have
had a desire to design and produce my own pieces. For the past
few years, I have made drawings and reworked ideas. In 1998,
the drawings became prototypes and received the name “Great
Basin” in honor of our geographic locale and the fact that
they, like the Mormon Pine, are constructed of native lumber.
They feature thick lumber, hand-planed surfaces and heavy, exposed
hand-cut dovetails.
